VA Benefits

Working with veterans since 2007

Upper Limit Aviation is an FAA Part 141 school with VA-approved Professional Pilot Programs. We help veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, and eligible dependents pursue vocational flight training under the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. ULA has partnered with the VA since 2007.

How VA vocational flight training works

Vocational flight training under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® works differently than benefits at a traditional college. The VA establishes an annual maximum reimbursement amount for approved vocational flight training, adjusted periodically. Contact admissions for the current annual maximum and how it applies to your training plan.

Benefits apply to approved programs and are subject to your remaining entitlement and current VA rules. Montgomery GI Bill benefits may apply where eligible.

Fixed-wing Instrument and Commercial

VA regulations require fixed-wing Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot training to be pursued concurrently as one vocational objective. The annual VA reimbursement applies to this combined training period, not as a separate annual benefit for each course.

How admissions helps

Every veteran's path is different. Admissions reviews prior FAA certificates and ratings for credit, explains approved training pathways, and helps you plan around your available VA education benefits.

Typical career pathway

Private Pilot → Instrument Rating + Commercial Pilot (concurrent) → Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) → professional flight experience. See also FAQs.

Ask before you enroll. These details vary by case and change with VA policy.
